To plan and implement the superstructures and infrastructures that has a very important place in the social life of Büyükçekmece district and also to follow-up and coordination of the work planned to be carried out by other public institutions, to provide transparent, people-oriented and participatory services by using the public resources in the most efficient way.

To be a directorate that quickly resolves the problems in the light of technological developments by considering the modern, aesthetic, modern construction and service understanding and the wishes of our people.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the  Directorate of Technical Works:

 

• To build new roads and to repair existing roads within the municipality boundaries in accordance with the current zoning plans, to keep the roads open for access in any case, asphalting new roads, repairing existing and deteriorating asphalt,
• To carry out work related to physical landscaping (curbs, pavement, etc.)
• To create an urban identity in urban lighting, to create a night image of the city, to create night tourism and ensuring that the city lives at night regarding the functional and architectural lighting of the city,
• To carry out all kinds of work in order to ensure a better perception of remarkable places, to show the historical and architectural heritage, to provide comfort in residential areas, to make the city livable at night and to reveal the values of the city,
• To make the city's infrastructure and investments in accordance with the approved plans,
• to plan the works  so that the areas left as green areas in zoning plans to be facilitated as parks and gardens, playgrounds and sports areas, to construct new parks and to maintain and revise old parks,
• To carry out the necessary works for the improvement of wastewater and rain water within the boundaries of the district,
• To remove the encroachments on the roads that constitute violations in the zoning plan, to make the roads and infrastructures passing over private property in accordance with the zoning plan,
• To evaluate the requests of official and private organizations or citizens regarding road excavation works, giving the licenses of the appropriate ones,
• To coordinate with other relevant organizations in infrastructure works,
• To control the construction works made by the municipality,
• To accrue infrastructure damage costs within the district boundaries in accordance with the relevant legislation and send them to the relevant unit for collection,
• To establish signaling networks by creating road and driving safety that will keep the traffic flow continuous in main arteries, streets and intersections, or to have them established,

To place horizontal-vertical traffic signs for traffic safety or to have them placed, to coordinate with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Transportation in order to ensure traffic flow, to carry out necessary technical infrastructure works
