This Clarification Text has been prepared by T.R Büyükçekmece Municipality (hereinafter referred to as the "Organization") as data controller to inform you, our valued citizens, about your personal data that we process in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data (hereinafter referred to as the "KVKK") No. 6698 and relevant legal regulations.

Personal data is any data that identifies you or makes it identifiable. For example, your name, surname, phone number or bank account information are personal data. Processing your personal data means all kinds of processes on your data such as obtaining, changing, saving, storing, deleting, explaining, and transferring.

1. Scope of Your Processed Sensitive Personal Data and Processing

Sensitive personal data are data about race, ethnic origin, political opinion, philosophical belief, religion, sect or other beliefs, costume and clothing, membership to associations, foundations or unions, health information, sexual life, criminal convictions and security measures, as well as biometric and genetic data.

Sensitive personal data are data, may cause the person to be exposed to discrimination or become a victim if found out by third parties. For this reason, we know that such data require more strict protection and we are extremely sensitive during their processing.

Your personal data is stored for a period stipulated in the relevant legislation or for the periods required by the processing purposes. Your data will be deleted, destroyed or anonymized ex officio or upon your request, in case the legal grounds requiring data processing are eliminated.

We would like to state that your personal data is stored within the Organization for periods determined in accordance with the guidelines and instructions regarding archival activities and retention periods published by the relevant Ministry.

Your Rights Regarding Your Data

Relevant person refers to the real persons whose personal data are processed. You, our valued Online Visitors, as the relevant person, have the following rights regarding your personal data processed in accordance with the KVKK:

• Requesting information if your personal data is processed,
• To learn the purpose of processing your personal data and whether they are used in accordance with the purpose,
• To know the third parties to whom personal data is transferred, in the country or abroad,
• Requesting correction of personal data in case of incomplete or incorrect processing,
• Requesting the deletion or destruction of personal data within the framework of the conditions stipulated in KVKK c,
• Requesting notification of the third parties to whom personal data has been transferred, about the correction of incomplete or incorrect data and the deletion or destruction of personal data upon your request,
• Objecting to the emergence of a result against the person herself/himself by analyzing the processed data exclusively through automated systems,
• Requesting the compensation of the damage in case of loss due to unlawful processing of personal data.

1. Methods You Should Follow to Exercise Your Rights

For your applications and requests regarding your personal data, through the Relevant Person Application Form,

• By sending to the address “Fatih Mah. Şehremini Sok. No:1 Büyükçekmece / İstanbul” with your original signature and a copy of your identity card,
• By signing with secure electronic signature or mobile signature and sending it to kvkk@bcekmece.bel.tr  e-mail address,
• By signing with secure electronic signature or mobile signature and sending it to buyukcekmecebelediyesi@hs01.kep.tr via registered electronic mail (KEP),
• By applying in person with a valid identity document you can send it to the organization.

In order for us to operate the process in the most efficient way for you, you must clearly and understandably state which of your rights you want to exercise in your request, and the details of the process you request.

We would like to emphasize that the subject of the request must be related to the relevant person. If an application is made on behalf of someone else, the person making the request must rely on a specially documented authorization (power of attorney) for the requested process. Unauthorized applications will not be considered.

We evaluate your applications and get respond you as soon as possible and at the latest within 30 days from the date of receiving your application.
