Young people from 64 countries called the World for love and peace

The official opening ceremony of the ‘’International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival’’ which was awarded as the ‘’World’s Best Culture and Art Festival’’ 8 times, witnessed colorful scenes this year as well.

The ‘’International Istanbul Büyükçekmece Culture and Art Festival’’, that is organized for the 23rd time this year by Büyükçekmece Municipality with the slogan ‘’Love to each other, peace for all’’, will end on August 6th.

The festival, which was awarded the ‘’World’s Best Culture and Art Festival’’ 8 times by the Federation of International Dance Festivals, has been held on a limited basis for the last two years due to the pandemic.

Meaningful message on the historical bridge

This year, 1500 cultural and art ambassadors from 64 countries attends the festival, where music concerts, international competitions, exhibitions, workshops, art workshops, children’s workshops and concerts meet with art lovers. Within the scope of the festival, the garden of love which is created traditionally every year, was created in Büyükçekmece Kültürpark, and then the plates of the countries were nailed to the peace log. After the performance of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Janissary Band, the young people with the traditional clothes of 64 countries gathered on the historical Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Bridge and by waving the flags of their countries, gave the message of “Love to each other, peace for all” to the whole World. The water shows on Büyükçekmece Lake were breathtaking. The ‘’Life Comes With Water’’ Water and Flyboard shows specially prepared for the festival amazed the audience. After the opening activities in Kültürpark, the official opening ceremony took place at Kemal Sunal Amphitheater with an intensive participation.
