“Council member states will end the Russian violence”

Mayor of Büyükçekmece Dr. Hasan Akgün, who spoke in the 42^nd session European Council Local and Regional Authorities meeting which is being held in Strasbourg, France by stating that the Russian attacks to Ukraine is an unnamed third world war said that “Council members, the USA and NATO will end this Russian violence.

With his speech in the 42^nd General Assembly, Mayor Akgün pointed out the fact that the Congress hosting historical sessions.

“We are witnessing a historical incident”

Mayor Akgün spoke in the session which Ukrainian Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov, Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko and Mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Senkevych participated via video conference. He stated that “to end this brutal period which caused to leave millions of innocent people especially elders, women and children their country, actions should be taken immediately. The Mayors, Minister from the spot and speakers talked the same way. This is an historical incident. I believe, 42nd Session of the Congress is witnessing a historical incident. I would like to tell something else. 100 years ego, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was our leader when we save our country. In 1922, he said “peace at home, peace in the World”. I understand better how important this statement is.

“This is an unnamed World War III”

Akgün pointed out that there is no winner at wars, cause nothing but fear and poverty, continued: “ Will Russia attack the all the targets that it wants? Georgia, then Ukraine as other people say, which country is the next? My personal opinion is that this is an unnamed World War III and NATO, the USA, the UN and the 46 Members of the Council of Europe will stop this war. If we all enhance the sister city relations with Ukraine as Congress members, this will be a good message. As whole municipalities of Turkey, we embraced all people coming from Ukraine, Afghanistan and Syria to our country. 5 more family came to my district today. We are more than ready to support them. We are together with our Ukrainian friends with our strenght and belief. You will win. The unjust will get the lesson they deserve.
