Mayor Akgün: “Have a healthy and successful academic year”

Participating in the new education year Opening Ceremony, Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün wished teachers and students a healthy and successful academic year.

In Büyükçekmece, the 2021-2022 academic year opening ceremony was held at Ömer Gültekin Yavuz Selim Primary School. 

The ceremony, which was held with the participation of Büyükçekmece District Governor Dr. Mehmet Özel, Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün, members of the municipality council and the district protocol, was held with measures taken within the scope of the fight against Covid-19 pandemic. After the speeches and the poems read by the students, District Governor Özel and Mayor Akgün visited the classrooms and wished the students success.

"Let's comply with the measures taken"

Wishing the new academic year to be beneficial for our country, Mayor Dr. Hasan Akgün said, “18 million students and over 1 million teachers started face-to-face education in the new academic year. The 2021-2022 academic year will be beneficial to our teachers and students who raised bright generations that will be hope for our country. Let's comply with the "Measurements taken in the Covid-19 outbreak" instructions prepared by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of National Education. Let's follow the hygiene measures, mask use and distance rule in our homes, student services and schools. I hope the new academic year will be full of health and success for our teachers, students and parents.
